Two principles

Community first.
Precision second.

01

Community first

We grew up together, work inside local clubs and want Typo to feel useful to the places around us. If a decision makes the company colder, it is probably the wrong one.

02

Precision second

Every coffee is cupped, scored and roasted to a plan. Origin, process, score and roast date belong on the bag and product page, without turning the cup into homework.

The short version

We were friends long before we were any good at coffee. The friendship stuck, and eventually the coffee caught up.

Typo Coffee · Mullingar

How we got here

Three years,
three cafes,
one roastery.

Maynooth opens

One drive-thru window, four friends and a fairly loose business plan.

First 6kg roaster

We stopped buying roasted coffee and learned, batch by batch, how to make our own.

Leixlip opens

Second window, same coffee, better hands.

Mullingar opens

Cafe and roastery in one place. Home base.

The 30kg drum arrives

Enough capacity for all three cafes and independent counters around Ireland.

Inside the roastery

Every lot cupped,
every score published.

We work across Arcadia, Caravela and Viva to choose the best green coffee for the cup, not the supplier. Every coffee in a Typo bag scores at least 84 on the SCA scale.
